Nowadays most of the cities shows a particular skyline that makes them recognizable. The profile is typically shaped by skyscrapers, streets and colors.
Skyscrapers give the possibility to host hundreds of people, create a lot of flats and offices in a small ground area. Developing vertical cities is the result of combining several factors, such as the population growth, the real estate market demand and the contemporary need of including green areas in the metropolitan environment. These buildings often become the symbol of their city and fine examples of urban architecture. Each of them has unique characteristics, as high tech materials, kind of glass, distinctive shapes, use of steel or other metal alloys, etc.
Burj Khalifa (Dubai) is the tallest tower in the world. It is 830 meters high (about 2700 feet) and has 163 floors, but its record will be probably broken by a new structure in Jeddah, that is currently under construction: the Kingdom Tower that should reach 1000 meters in the air (about 3300 feet).
