I love macro photography and the level of detail you can get out of it.
Remember my OlloClip lens in the post about my Picker Kit? If you unscrew the wide-angle and fisheye lens you get 10x and 15x macro respectively. And then you can start playing!
It’s not difficult to find a subject for macro photography and, no matter what you choose, you will always have great results. Because details are the players of this fascinating world.
Here below you can see my iPhone5 with the OlloClip lens attached and the fisheye removed for using the 15x macro lens. Look at the size of the pocket dictionary and look at how clean is the image of the words!
Now step outside your door. Really, just a step and you’ll see tons of subjects! I have a tree, just outside my office door, that started blooming (yeah, crazy winter this year). I took my lens and chose the 10x macro. This is the result.
Then, with the same lens, I went back to my studio and shot the first thing I saw on the table. Wow. You can see the smallest scratch on the screw.
It didn’t take long to set up the shots. Just get close and press the button. Easy, fun, endless possibilities. This is macro. And I love it.
Once again, this is the demonstration that mobile photography is amazing! And like any kind of photography, with the correct tools you can achieve great results.
