So, Google Project Ara phone as been a trending topic this last few weeks!
This modular phone was an older Motorola project, but Google has recently announced the first models will hit the market this year.
Here is the video demo of this revolutionary project.
The protoype shows the world’s very first modular phone.
For now, Google will be the only manufacturer producing the Ara frames, but of course the idea is that thousands of developers will create module components, similarly to what has happened so far with Android apps. The MDK provides guides as to how developers can create new parts, including processor chips, display panels, connectivity modules such as Wi-Fi cells, battery packs…
… and mobile photography tools, of course! People who don’t care about it will even be allowed to buy the phone without the camera, but people who care will opt for example for a 13-megapixel sensor with optical stabilization, instead of the basic 5-megapixel module.
Form what has been announced so far, these features will likely be available in the next months, but we are looking forward to seeing what the Developers’ creativity will lead to.
What about you? What would you love to see released soon?
