Insects rule the world! They are small animals with an exoskeleton (an external hard shell), six legs and, sometimes, wings and antennae.
Insects comprise a large group of animals that have different characteristics, such as bees, dragonflies, aphids, crickets, butterflies, ants, ladybugs, grasshoppers, etc.
It’s a common mistake to think that spiders and scorpions are insects, but they are arachnids. For instance, they have eight legs (not six). Their body consists of two main parts, whereas the body of the insects is composed of three sections. Furthermore, arachnids don’t have antennae.
