Aurelia Rampin was born in Italy in the Sixties. She worked as artisan and she’s actually looking for new opportunities. Aurelia has two sweet daughters, one cute cat and a patient husband with whom she likes wandering in Brianza (the country area near Milan).
This detail is part of a facade that struck me very much. The picture is the first in a series of shots capturing modern architectural elements of a building located in Seregno (a town near Milan).
Hello Aurelia, thanks for joining the interview.
When did you start getting closer to mobile photography?
I’ve always been a “technology lover”. I started using the smartphone to shoot my daughters and my family, because it’s an object we use to take with us and is always ready to seize the moment. That’s how I began to be passionate about mobile photography.
What model of device do you use?
I use an iPhone 6s Plus.
What’s more difficult for you as amateur photographer and what the greater satisfaction?
I’ve never had problems, I got many satisfactions instead, for instance several people commended my photos. I was also amazed to be invited for an interview for the first time in my life.
This picture shows bathing huts along Santa Margherita Ligure’s beach (Italy). They were filled with sunlight and enhanced by intense colors, white, blue and fuchsia. I should literally rip out those tints from the sun, because they were too pale in the original shot.
Your portfolio displays a series of macro shots. Do you like this genre of photography?
I’m very interested in macro photography, even if I must say the lenses suitable for smartphones don’t offer excellence performance, but, anyway, they give acceptable outcomes.
This photo captures my kitty Niko peeking out of the door and looking at me with her curious eyes.
What are your favorite apps to post produce your images?
Some of your photos are characterized by visual effect. Why did you choose to apply them? When you shoot, do you plan to use artistic filters or do you decide later?
When I take pictures, I usually have the idea of what filters I want to apply. I try capturing on the smartphone exactly what I see and feel in that moment, as similarly as possible.
Would you like to focus on only one genre of photography?
I love landscapes, in particular those you can enjoy in Brianza, but I don’t look at a particular genre. I love shooting, that’s all!
This photo shows the lighthouse of Lignano Sabbiadoro’s harbor (Italy) in a rainstorm awkward. I got the effect through the post production, because it has never rained the entire time that I was there…
Would you like to shoot events in the future?
Yes, if I have the opportunity, I’ll do it.
It was on July and my family and me were at the Monza’s park (Italy). The agents allowed us to enter the speedway while testing the cars. We found just few photographers and amateurs…we were very lucky!
Thank you Aurelia and keep shooting!
