I loved this interview at first glance.
I like very much Laura El-Tantawy, her background and professionality. She is an Egyptian photographer, born in England and grown in multiple countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt & the US. When she works on long term projects she works either with digital camera and film camera but in her day life she uses her smartphone.
She is a very much an observer, who analyses and plans ahead situations before catching the reality with her camera. Last day I watched her interviewed by Stuff Talks. She is a pro smartphone photographer and the thing I liked the most during the 4 minutes episode was hearing “how” she talks about mobile photography.
I want to share with you the video that can be a resource for beginners and all amateurs who want to know more about the experience of mobile photographers. In this video Laura talks about photography and how energized she feels by the moment and by the spontaneity of things. She highlights the power of the smartphone that makes her feel “invisible”, like an observer among other people. She also gives an important advice: don’t rely too much on post-production and application. Challenge yourself!
Hope you enjoy the video as I did!
