When he has free time, he likes traveling and playing different musical instruments. Sander job allows him to travel to many places, even far from where he lives, like Baikal lake, Yamal and Yakutia, and he likes that. He also enjoys bicycle, which is one of his favorite hobbies.
Hi Sander, can you tell us when did you start with photography?
I started with photography six or seven years ago. At first it was a hobby, latest it become more like a profession.
What you like most about photography?
As a professional cameramen I must always have a fresh vision and creativity. Everyday photography for me is like everyday running: if you stop running, next time you’ll run slower.
What is in your opinion a quality that can not be missing a photographer?
For me, a good image has a right composition, exposition, sharpness. But a great image contains something more. It might not have a ‘good image’ attributes at all, but it has a spirit.
Do you have a favorite subject?
I like taking shots of several subjects. My passions are Travel and Nature. I live in middle of Russia, where there are many lakes and pine forests. It’s a lot of inspiration for me.
In my region snow covered ground is almost half a year, from November to April. I captured that old traditional Russian country houses at sunset, low sun light pines and showed a factory of wooden walls.
What does inspire you?
You also have some urban elements in your portfolio. What do you like about architectural images?
People create a new artificial habitat. Architecture surrounds us every day and sometimes we just walk by and even didn’t pay attention to it.
Rhythm and color are the most important things to me when I choose a subject or an architecture.
Following some of your photos. Can you describe very briefly their meaning for you what or what caught your attention?
I like reflections and symmetry of this composition and the background with color spots.
Feeling of new day and changes inspires me…
What type of device do you use?
The best camera is the camera you always have with you. Because of that I prefer smartphone camera on my Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.
I prefer to use a fixed lens on digital cameras, so there is no problem for me to shoot wide angle smartphone lens.
Do you apply post production to your images?
I use a Snapseed app in post.
