Today we are featuring Snapseed (version 2.1.0), one of the most interesting post-production free apps, available for both Android and iOS, on Google Play Store and Apple Store. It’s a simple to use and very intuitive application. Below you can see the interface of the app that has many possibilities.
We ‘ll talk about those that we believe are the most useful for making changes without exceeding with alterations. That’s because a good image needs little intervention. We ‘ll talk about the Tune Image’s feature, Lens Blur and Black & White.
Tune Image (Calibra Immagine in the screenshot) We focus on this function because of the various adjustments that can be done. There’s the possibility to intervene on the shadows and increase readability. Yo can also try other functions, keeping in mind that you should not go overboard with the effects to preserve the quality of the file.
Lens Blur (Sfocatura obiettivo in the screenshot) This feature allows you to blur parts of the frame according to the examples you see below (with parallel lines and circles). We find it very interesting because this effect simulates depth of field and can be useful in cases where you need to blur a person, a face, or a plate of a car or more. This because the image can be considered as Creative: in other words licensable for commercial use.
Black and White Last, the interesting feature “black and white” of Sanpseed. This app allows you to convert the color image into black and white, simulating the effect of color filters that are mounted on the SLR, as well as a good number of settings and types of black and white. It is possible to change brightness, contrast and grain. We suggest you not to go overboard with the manipulation because there is a risk that they generate a lot of noise (especially as you can see below for the sky area), which actually could be fixed with an anti-noise functionality that the app doesn’t have.
